KIDS WITH CAMERAS
NEWS*** Kids with Cameras has received a small grant to purchase cameras and memory cards for kids without cameras to use during the class.
Kids With Cameras New Class will begin May 13, 7-9pm at THE STUDIO in Bandon. Classes will be held every Wednsday Night from 7-9pm and every Saturday from 3-5pm. Kids are welcome to attend one or both days. We do ask that parents not stay for the classes, since kids become more comfortable after their parents have left.
Kids With Cameras is the newest program from Benefit For Hope. This program is based on the program that was initiated in India, and has since spread across the planet. At this time, B4H's program is opening up to all kids in Coos County, Oregon but hopes to expand.
There will be times where the kids will be visiting local spots, such as the Jetty, city park, etc... These classes have an objective of not only promoting photography and their artistic feelers, but will help their self esteem, confidence, and playing with their imagination.
The classes are for all kids, ages 10-18. The only requirement is that the child have access to a digital camera (not phone camera) of at least 4 megapixels. We do understand that many families cannot afford the purchase of a camera, so we are currently looking for donations of cameras, or funds to purchase cameras for students to use. (Cameras can be purchased for as little as $40 a piece.) (4/15/09) We now have 4 Kodak cameras and several extra memory cards for kids to use during the class.
