We are so busy right now. Producing the Hope Awards is a major project, but everyone is involved. For those of you who don't about the Hope Awards, its our way of giving a pat on the back for people, groups and businesses who have gone out of their ways to help the South Coast, its people, and the communities. Giving Hope back is so important, especially right now, with the economy. If you get the chance to nominate someone, or a group, it will even make you feel great.

We're almost there!!!! The Calendars are almost done, and the photos are looking wonderful. Its hard picking which ones will go into the calendars because they were all great.
The Kids photo shoot was a bit of a chaotic day. We had several kids, not show up, or drop out, without notice, so we had to grab kids that we already had and shove them into open spots, but no one seemed to mind, except for Annie, my sis. By the end of the day she was sooo tired. Natosha Smith, a great friend, not only had her daughter in the calendar, but she got thrown in as well. She also worked with mom and took some great pictures. She's a great photographer and we are all so proud of her. Some of her photos can be seen on the kids calendar page.
The editing of the kids photos have been taken a long time, because there were so many kids in each photo, and there are always little details to work on. But they are coming out great.
Saturday April 18 we are holding a bake sale to help with printing costs, since we didn't really get much sponsorship, and people can pre-order the calendars, as well as get a sneak peek at the photos.
Our program Kids With Cameras did get a small grant form the Coos Cultural Art Coalition so that we could purchase a few cameras and memory cards so that kids that don't have cameras can use them for the class. We are going to open the class up to all of Coos County, and start offering it at The Studio, rather than the school. It will make it easier, we hope.
As we get close to the Kick-off for the calendars, keep checking back.

Yesterday, we spend 12 1/2 hours shooting for the Pin-Ups For Hope Calendar. Lacey Morrill, our hair and make-up artist brought her sister, Katie, to help out, and it was a good thing. Right off from the begining, it was hairy, having several models show up at once, but Lacey did great. All of our ladies turned out WONDERFUL. Jeff Norris, our Sexy Escort, for our Movie Star Gina Littlejohn, walked in wearing his tux, and I don't think a single woman was able to breath for a moment. WOW. That shoot went AWESOME.
Our next shoot was with Chris Alexander, our nurse, and we just had to throw in a love-sick patient, Jared Watkins. Talk about Funny. Chris was very hot, and Jared, well-just wait until you see. Marilyn Williams, was our "Candy Girl" and she had everyone laughing. Her hair and make-up looked great, but as soon as she was done with her shoot, up went the hair. Hmm. Jacquie Leatherwood was our waitress and she looked so cute in her uniform. Poor lady, tho, she had to "drink" a colorful mix of blue berry and rasberry yougurt with whipped cream on top. It look perfect, until it started to melt down her hand.
Our "Housewife" was the gorgous Chelsey, and her two "brats" were Ethan and Avery. They looked so perfect together, and Chelsey was the perfect Wife, martini and all. Shalee, came in a little late, she got to meet one of Bandon's finest on the way to the shoot. Oh well, she was so hot in the pink and white bikini. She really did her research because she looked like she stepped out of the 40s.
Our Matron of the bunch, Geri Procetto, was so classy in her costume, trimming the christmas tree. I guess that's what you can call "timeless Beauty." Poor Sabrina Sands, her costume was one of the ones stuck somewhere in postal land. She was a bit nervous because we put her in a filmy white nightgown, with a christmas apron, but after a few shots, she really nailed it. Her red hair was perfect for the christmas shots. Mayor Mary was our Marine, very dignified. She's the perfect Commander for our group. I can't believe she keeps all that hair pulled back all of the time, its gorgeous.
When Catherine Riddick walked in, All in Red, it was WOW. She's one hot tamale. Catherine knew exactly what she was doing!!! We had to make some quick changes for our "Shopping Gals." Tyne Riddick had to go to cheer our team at finals, so she wasn't able to make our shoot, so we replaced her with TWO younger girls, Ashley McBroom, and Shawniee McClurg, with Jillian Alexander and Johanna Hickox as "mom", it was the perfect group. Johanna led the bunch in their catfight over those prize shoes.
Next came in Jennifer Alexander as one of our two "phone" girls. When she walked out of the dressing room she was look so much like Carrie Underwood in Blue and white polka dots. Jen must be used to talking on the phone, because she made every shot look good. Our second "phone girl" was Erica Tate. She was nervous, but her shots were amazing. We tried to show off her tattoos as best as we could in her black and white polka dot dress. She sure looked good. Then walked in our blue-haired Bride, Danille Nason. She's a Hot Bride, for sure. The blue in her hair, really made the shots pop. Who knew....
Our last model was Amy Moss-Strong. It took three people to do her hair, that gal has enough for three women, and its all beautiful. Amy finished up her make-up, and I don't think any of us have ever seen her like that. Vavavoom. All that hair and the fur she wore. WOW.
We had several high school kids from Mr. Frasier's class help us out, Emily, Shawniee, of course, Devon, Tara, Tommy McBroom, and of course My Sis, Annie, was the Photo Director. She had everyone doing something. So we ended up with about 1800 photos, and its going to be hard to just chose one for each model. I don't look forward to that. Next will be the Children's Calendar and we are all already tired just thinking about that.

We are only two weeks away from the Pin-Ups For Hope, calendar shoot. We have 20 beautiful women, from all walks of life and ages. Its going to be alot of work, but luckily we have the help of Mr. Bob Frazier's High School students.
And if it can go wrong, it has. 5 of our costumes are floating around in Postal Heaven, 2 are stuck in Customs (never, NEVER order anything from Asia if you need it in less then 6 months). Props, have walked out the doors, models have moved, directions, lists, etc... have vanished. Our office and studio is being ran over by costumes, make-up, props, backgrounds, and dogs. Dogs? Yes-dogs. Evidently we are the newest dog sanctuary.
We are ALL stressing and now getting so nervous, as we get closer to the BIG day. Our photographer, my mom, is pulling her hair out, trying to keep business as usual and throw in our photo shoots. I'm sure once we finish, that night, we will be happy, and every thing will go well.
We had our Kids For Hope Calendar Cover Shoot a couple of weeks ago and that was a DISASTER. The Gym was overrun with Medevil knights, donkeys and witches, thinking that they were going to work around our photo shoot. NOT. SO we were late setting up, equipment worked only when it wanted to, kids were tired, grumpy and some just wouldn't sit still. So we are having to revamp our cover for the Kids For Hope Calendar.
Now we are sending out Sponsor Kits out, hoping to get sponsors for months. Bandon Golf Shop has donated the use of their clothing and gear in exchange for sponsoring August in the Kids For Hope Calendar. The sponsorship will help with the printing costs of the calendars. Once we have them in our hot little hands, we will start hitting up local stores, hoping they will sell them for us. HINT HINT.
We have a great Make-Up artist for the Pin-ups. Lacey from Vicki G's Salon. We are all having our hair and make-up done for the pin-up shots. There are a couple of ladies that are just too uncomfortable with having a huge shoot, so we will be shooting their's this weekend at mom's studio. At least that way, we will get an idea of what we might have in store.
Keep an eye out for us.....

Well, we've done it. We chose the models that will be seen on the two calendars that we will be producing. For the Pin-Up Calendar, we have 16 beautiful women, from 18 to 77 years old. We had so many women interested, and it was so hard to turn some women down. For the children's Calendar, we chose 18 children from the ages of 1 to 17, boys and girls.
The name of the Pin-Up Calendar is "Pin-ups For Hope" and for the kids, "Children For Hope."
The next step for us is designing the themes and costumes. We actually have to shoot the cover in the next couple of weeks, so that the distributor can add it to their catalog that goes out to over 20,000 book and gift stores. This was a bit unexpected, we thought we had until April, but we were told otherwise today.
The actual photo shoot for the Pin-Up Calendar is on February 28th, in Bandon. We basically have 16 women to get styled and have their portraits taken. So its actually 16 photo shoots, in one day.
The kids' photo shoot is March 14, but we won't have to do much for their hair and make-up. Most of the shoots will have more than one kid, so hopefully it will go easy.
The calendars have to be in the hands of the distributor by April. Hopefully we get alot of orders. We do plan on a huge publicity campaign to promote the calendar, and what it is for.
We will be making it available for sale on this website, as well as Amazon.com. Keep checking back for updates.
